Employment Authorization under category (c)(11) (Parole)
Fees:
Initial filing - $1030 online / $1080 by mail
Renewal - $750 online / $800 by mail
The fee consists of two parts:
- USCIS fee ($470 online / $520 by mail)
- DHS fee ($560 initial / $280 renewal)
The DHS fee is mandatory.
The USCIS fee may be waived by filing Form I-912.
Validity: 1 year or until your parole status (I-94) expires, whichever comes first
Processing time: not limited
If you received Form I-94
with DT (Parole) status or another document confirming Parole,
you may file Form I-765 under category (c)(11).
If you received an Interim Notice Authorizing Parole after detention,
you are most likely in expedited removal proceedings and
are not eligible for employment authorization under (c)(11).
Parole status itself does not automatically grant work authorization
or an SSN (except for Ukrainian nationals).
You must file Form I-765 with USCIS.

You may also upload PDF versions of Forms I-765 and I-912.
2. By mail
I-GUIDE recommendation: file by mail only if you plan to request a fee waiver.
Fee waiver eligibility:
- Public benefits (Medicaid, SNAP/EBT, cash assistance)
- Financial hardship (difficult to prove)
