In July 2023, USCIS introduced the ability to reschedule a biometrics appointment online.
Previously, rescheduling an appointment was only possible through the USCIS Contact Center.
Now, you can reschedule through your USCIS online account:
https://my.uscis.gov/accounts/biometrics/overview
Important: you can only reschedule an appointment in advance, if you have not missed it, and no later than 12 hours before the scheduled time.
Requirements to reschedule biometrics
- an active USCIS online account;
- details of the upcoming appointment (date, time, location);
- A-number or Receipt Number;
- a “valid” reason.
You cannot reschedule if:
- you already missed the appointment;
- less than 12 hours remain before the appointment;
- you have already rescheduled twice.
Important: it does not matter how you filed the form or how you received the biometrics notice — by mail or online. In all cases, rescheduling is done online through your account.
The new biometrics notice will appear in your online account.
If you already missed the appointment, you must contact USCIS support by calling the Contact Center at +1-800-375-5283.
