Can you get free food in the U.S.? What is a food bank?

Yes, you can. Receiving free food from a food bank or food pantry is generally allowed and does not affect your immigration case.

In most situations, no documents are required, or only minimal proof of local residence may be requested. Volunteers are usually welcoming and willing to help.

It is recommended to arrive by car, as food distributions often include large quantities.
